Vivo X200 Pro Vivo’s flagship phone for 2025
VIVO X200 Pro Review: Vivo’s flagship phone for 2025 if you look back on this year I think Chinese brands have come very close to catching up with the iPhone and Samsung last time.

Vivo X200 Pro Camera
the Vivo x200 Pro shocked me with its great portraits and I absolutely fell in love with the Xiaomii 14 ultra’s 3x floating camera the macro videos like of black and white portraits were just stunning and this thing here shows that the Gap will get even narrower I have been using the vi X200 Pro alongside my daily driver the iPhone 16 Pro Max for about a week now and one thing I can tell right away is that the Vivo X200 Pro is Miles Ahead when it comes to portraits.

Vivo has gone with a fresh 200 map 3.7x Periscope zoom lens this time versus the 5x lens we usually see on Apple Samsung and even pixel the 3.7x AKA 85 mm is a perfect focal length to click portrait.
since you don’t have to go too far away to take a picture and since this sensor is 200 megapixels and not 48 or 5 megapixels as you get on the iPhone you can click 135 mm portraits without compromising much on the details which I think is such a genius move from Vivo and that gave me a lot of flexibility too additionally Vivo’ss collaboration with over all these years is now truly starting to shine.

I have clicked over 100 portraits from the X200 Pro and they look stunning with prize Edge detection and blur levels the B it’s able to capture is easily the best.

I have seen on a smartphone the skin tone is slightly processed and brightened yes and they might not look the most natural but it is social media ready and I don’t have to edit it in the post plus this is the fastest lens I’ve come across so it’s perfect for taking it out on the streets forthat sharp and crisp outputt just look at these photos of these kids or this pigeon shot although all of them were constantly on the move I was able to shoot them with great Focus likewise check out this photo of an auntie who was in a public vehicle I clicked this while I was on the back of a bike I just pointed and shot and it came out great so overall if you love clicking.

portraits indoors outdoors and especially on the streets this phone truly raises the bar when it comes to mobile photography like 100% I also liked all the different M flares that Vivo provides in the camera app and different modes like the black and white portraits which again come out fabulous this telephoto lens can also shoot some nice looking macro photos and since it is a 9 in1 pixel bin 12 megapixal macro image the details are great here and like the portraits you will also like the color composition and boui from the macro photos by default it shoots 3.7x macros but if you want to really go close you can switch to the 7.4x and even 10x modes to click even tinier subjects photos from the main 50 megapixel camera of the X200 Pro are also hard not to like it has plenty of details and excellent dynamic range even in the most challenging situations like this the white balance is consistent almost all of the time and I like how it has a bit of a pop in colors even in the default natural mode even during low light you will find plenty of details and nice exposure handling the Third lens is an ultra wide angle camera which unfortunately remains unchanged from last year.
Censorship technology
so it’s slightly behind the likes of Pixel and iPhone the field of VI in pictures is narrower and it’s not as bright or sharp as the main lens anyway Vivo has upgraded the videography aspect from last year uh you can shoot 4K 60 FPS from all of the cameras now including the selfie camera which was initially missing on the X100 Pro the footages are nice and clean with good colors as we saw with the photos although it’s nowhere near as stable as my iPhone you will notice a slight wobbliness in the 4K 60 FPS videos and the ultra-wide angle videos, in particular, are quite average considering this is a flagship phone so I definitely want to see Chinese makers come up with more improvements in terms of the videos maybe using censorship technology.

Like iPhone or software optimization would help videos get better in future Generations but right now the iPhone and even Samsung are slightly ahead when it comes to video graphy just check out this portrait video comparison against the 16 Pro Max it just cannot process the blur and Edge detection that well likewise one strange thing I found is that you can click 4K 120 FPS videos from the X200 Pro like the 16 Pro Max but I cannot change the speed in post to create fun slow motion videos which just work so well on the iPhone 16 Pro Max okay now I think I have talked a lot about the cameras on the vi X200 Pro but I think other aspects of this phone are equally compelling first of all although VI has not changed the design by a lot over the years this year we get a more modern looking flat design like on iPhone and Samsung and instead of the curved sides we now get a display with a subtle rounding towards all four edges.
big 6,000 mAh silicon carbon battery

Vivo has also included an official IP 68 as well as ipx9 rating which means it can stand full submersion as well as high temperature water jets which is a much better kind of Ingress Protection than the competition and there’s a big 6,000 Mah silicon carbon battery here unlike traditional graphite based technology still being used by Apple and Samsung this means despite a big battery the weight of this phone has not increased that much from last year it still feels solid in the hand.

But I have to admit I am not a big fan of such camera modules in fact I did an interesting experiment and it turned out pretty well so I I took this carrot and what you can do is you can peel it off like this and it does so so effectively just just look at the effectiveness you can use this phone in the kitchen as well okay Jokes Aside the display on the vi X200 pro has improved too here the X200 pro has everything you would want for the best display experience an lt pro panel 120 HZ refresh rate 2160 HZ pwm dimming Dolby Vision Plus HD 10 playback on o platforms as well and by the way you can click videos from it in Dolby Vision 10bit log format and edit and post this display can get quite bright too it can reach 2,000 nits in auto brightness mode Outdoors we also have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor finally seems like the entire BBK group IU OnePlus Oppo realme and Vivo have now shifted to a more advanced ultrasonic sensor.

this means the fingerprint sensor is now placed at a perfect location and it can unlock when my hands are wet as well so this is a welcome welcome Edition as for the performance the vi X200 Pro is also one of the few phones to be powered by mediate Tech’s Flagship Diamond City chipset and uh to know more I strongly suggest you watch my comparison video I posted a week ago against the Snapdragon 8 Elite and the Apple A8 Pro I know you might be skeptical about mediatech chipsets that to on a flagship phone but over the years mediate Tech processors have become as good as the ones from qualcom and apple the difference you would notice is actually quite minimal and in the case of Vio X200 Pro everything just feels so smooth you can play almost all AAA games at 120 FPS with excellent stability and even games like genin impact run very well here without any hiccups or overheating at the highest of graphic settings.

this phone boots up an Android 15 and this new version of font touch OS has much better looking icons much better animations and transitions which make app opening and multitasking super fast as intuitive I also like the vibration feedback here it’s tight and precise uh but the only complaint I have with this phone is its speakers it’s just not as good as iPhone or Samsung but what’s better here is the battery life and charging speed as I mentioned earlier you get a 6,000 mamp silicon carbon battery and couple that with an lpo display that refreshes from 1 to 120 HZ depending on the content and a for NM chip I am easily getting like 6 hours of screen on time on heavy usage and even more than 10 hours on light usage I am thinking of coming up with an in-depth battery comparison video as soon as the OnePlus 13 and the s25 ultra launches sometime in January so if you are a legend you might want to subscribe to our website anyway you get a 90 W break inside the box which fills this phone.

From 0 to 75% in about 32 minutes and a complete refill in 45 minutes okay conclusion time and after spending some time with the Vivo X200 Pro I honestly never felt the need to use my iPhone 16 Pro except for maybe taking videos for my Instagram reals and stories so this goes on to show how mature Chinese phones have become especially the photography aspect it’s a game changer and not to forget the Vivo X200 Pro still is like 25 to 30% cheaper than the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the upcoming s25 Ultra so there is still that Headroom for Vivo to go with a more premium price in their next flagship phone and improve on things like number one videography number two more years of software commitment and number three maybe integrating more AI features that would make Apple and Samsung.
